When did FaceTime become a lifeline

– landline, screen-time, wifi, real-time

I don’t even use FaceTime, I Zoom past

Seconds of lag as I try to stay online

Hook, line and sinker as I open up a tab
Checking my shades of blue
Casual, professional and personal
Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook
Watching a Social Dilemma
Writing on Medium
Another social platform

Platform norm is the daily roll call

Presence in prescient prediction of all

Tall trees in the park with divided attention

Focusing on the latest mention of intention

Classroom streaming while I’m naming brands
Programming class with naming conventions
Systemic descriptions of past inventions
This new freedom still feels like detention
Attention ascension believers aplenty
Symbolic inscriptions are written in stone
We the people of apples and flags

The cards have been dealt in microchips

The fish in a stream into the sea

One by one as the latency dips

Cause and effect with a cup of tea

I saw an autumn sky of violet and pink
The beauty of skyline away from a timeline
Noticed a dot notification in elation
Church bells ringing on a setting sun
Brightness adjusted without expectations
Exacting the tacit in window condensation
The mild sensation of constructive frustration

Most days of my project #500daysofAI I post articles that attempts to grapple with researchers, research articles, whitepapers and companies within the field of artificial intelligence. However I decided to make an effort to write poetry once in a while. This is that ‘once in a while’ day, and so I hope you enjoy this poem or that this short text makes you stop and think for a second. I would of course be happy to receive any sort of feedback if you feel inclined to give. Here we go.

This is #500daysofAI and you are reading article 476. I am writing one new article about or related to artificial intelligence every day for 500 days.
