Using AI During Crisis To Coordinate Emergency Efforts
Today I had a talk with Morten Goodwin he was so kind to sit down and discuss his journey; current research within artificial intelligence (AI); and his thoughts about the Nordic community within the field of AI. This is the current description from CAIR — Center for Artificial Intelligence Research.
Dr. Morten Goodwin was introduced to machine learning and artificial intelligence by Ole-Christoffer Granmo in his master study, and has since been bitten by the bug. Morten Goodwin received his master’s degree from the University of Agder, Norway, in 2005, and the PhD degree in 2011 from the Department of Computer Science at Aalborg University, Denmark, where he applied machine learning algorithms on eGovernment indicators which are difficult to measure automatically.About CAIR
The Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research (CAIR) is hosted by the Department of ICT at the University of Agder. CAIR opened 2nd of March 2017 and conducts fundamental artificial intelligence research. At startup the centre has 14 researchers with expertise in the theory, algorithms and philosophy of artificial intelligence. Their mission is to attack unsolved problems and push the research frontier, seeking superintelligence. CAIR aims to provide an attractive environment for cutting-edge research. We think groundbreaking results and practical benefits at the same time. Our research shall break down barriers and drive innovation, for the greater good.

I am challenging myself to write and think about the topic of artificial intelligence for the next 500 days with the #500daysofAI. It is a challenge I invented to keep myself thinking of this topic and share my thoughts.
This is inspired by the film 500 Days of Summer where the main character tries to figure out where a love affair went sour, and in doing so, rediscovers his true passions in life.
